Vive and Physics
While working on a project involving a tracked object and fast moving physics, I was having some pretty big struggle but I found out how to properly combine Unity's Physics engine and HTC Vive controllers. The key for using high speed collisions with HTC Vive objects you have to use a Fixed Joint.
What you do is add a rigid body to the controller objects, and disable gravity. You then make the target object of the Fixed joint your target object.
Make sure that your desired trackerd object is not a child of anything
That object as well has to have a rigid body. Now that object will move and rotate with the controller or tracker but still utilize all of Unity's physics engine. A simple fix but extremely useful for anyone else wanting to use the HTC Vice and all of Unity's physics engine.
